Enchanting My Oils, The Process

There’s a beauty in creating bottled magic that I adore, which means I take extra care in the process. And it is a layered process.

Before developing an oil, I divine it. I consider the intention I’d like to work with and then I specifically ask my Collective how best to go about it. Which herbs to use, the best day of the week or moon phase, the oils, the rituals, and so forth. I then sit with the information before finalizing it and getting approval from my Collective to start.

Now, we build the layers. There’s a ritual for blending and charging the base oils. There’s a ritual for blending and charging the herbal blend. There’s a ritual for blending and charging the essential oils. There’s a ritual for charging any other ingredients or calling in any necessary spirits. There’s a ritual for bringing them all together. Then there’s a ritual for consecrating the final iteration.

The oils and herbs I use are safe for topical application, unless otherwise stated, and organic whenever possible. The herbs in particular are sourced locally or grown in my own garden if possible and then dried. Sometimes I’ll even use items that weren’t available to my ancestors (with their blessing), such as skin safe mica powder or crystals which are chosen for the colour or their specific ability to enhance the energy of the intention. I also ensure that it’s considered oil-safe and sanitized before being added.

Although I do touch the dried herbs with my bare hands during the ritual to manipulate the energy, when blended into the oil it’s then heated to a temperature high enough to kill most harmful bacteria (a process known as pasteurization). Once cooled, I add tocopherol acetate (a form of Vitamin E) to help prolong the shelf life and I use gloves during the bottling process to minimize contamination and then seal the bottle.

Completing all of those layers can take anywhere from a few days to a few months depending on the intention, the timing, the spirits, and some other factors. There is also the option of requesting that mica powder, crystals, dried herbs, or other items be omitted from your bottle by adding a note during checkout. This generally adds about a week to the processing time because your order will need to be specially bottled and consecrated before being shipped out.

Because I wait until all layers are completed, my oils are ready to ship when you place your order (except custom, pre-order, or special request), but they’re definitely not “mass produced”. I craft no more than 10 bottles of any given oil at a time and I ship packages out each Friday, which means your order is processed in under a week unless you have a pre-order item which doesn’t begin shipping until the date mentioned in the product description.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for your time and energy. Remember that every practitioner’s process is different. Defer to your own discernment when deciding from whom to purchase and although it’s impossible to duplicate their energy, spirits, or possibly even their rituals, it’s also important to note that you are fully capable of making your own enchanted oils, too.
